Matt Kenseth looks forward to the day when he can talk about his car instead of his contract.
Far from a spotlight-seeker, Kenseth nonetheless has been the buzz of this weekend's NASCAR races at Kentucky Speedway after he announced on Tuesday he was leaving Roush Fenway Racing at the end of the season.
Team owner Jack Roush, for his part, said on Friday he was as surprised as anyone when he heard that Kenseth was bolting to a team yet to be disclosed.
With months remaining in the season, it's an awkward situation for everybody. From Roush and Kenseth to the sponsors and everybody on the crew to the support staff, they're all left to make the best of things while trying to work together to win races.

Kentucky race has different look
This Saturday night we are back under the lights at Kentucky Speedway.
Obviously we don't have much of a history book when it comes to Cup racing there. Even though the track opened in 2001 for the Nationwide and Camping World Truck series, it wasn't until last July that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ran its first event there.
Even though Kyle Busch won last year's inaugural...

NASCAR Power Rankings, Kentucky Edition
The Sprint Cup tour heads to the place where the green turf is the blue grass, and, not so poetically, where the traffic jams better than the music. Or at least, the traffic was atrocious last year. That aside, the cars inside, and outside, of Kentucky speedway look to be tuned and ready for Saturday night's shootout.
