DeMarcus Cousins scored 17 consecutive points in the first half and finished with 34 in the Sacramento Kings' 117-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. Cousins also had 14 rebounds while playing only the first three quarters. Isaiah Thomas added 23 points and eight assists to help the Kings win for only the second time in their past 14 games in Phoenix. Sacramento, which has won six of its last 10, shot 53 percent from the floor and converted 22 of 24 free throws. Thomas and Cousins combined to go 17 of 17 from the line. Luis Scola led the Suns with 25 points, P.J. Tucker had a career-high 18, and Michael Beasley added 14 points and eight rebounds. Phoenix, resting point guard Goran Dragic for the second straight game, has lost five straight, nine of 10 and 11 of its past 13. Cousins scored his first points on four free throws and a dunk, then started extending his range. He hit a 19-footer, scored on a dunk, hit another 19-footer, a long 3-pointer and finally...

SacTown Update: Kings Minority Owner Agrees On Sale To Hansen

Bankruptcy lawyers for Sacramento Kings minority owner Bob Cook have agreed to sell his 7 percent stake to Chris Hansen, the investor behind Seattle's effort to buy the franchise, according to News 10 in Sacramento. The $15.1 million price would give the Seattle group a total of 72 percent. The Maloof brothers, majority owners of the Kings, have previously agreed to sell their...

Bill Walton compares Tyreke Evans to Einstein

Bill Walton's genius was on full display last night as he was a guest analyst on the Sacramento Kings broadcast as they were on the road to face the Phoenix Suns.  After Tyreke Evans makes a shot in the fourth quarter, Walton goes where absolutely nobody else in the known universe would go... by comparing Evans to some of the greatest men in history... "A thing of...

Kings head coach Keith Smart intercepts errant pass before it drills kid (video)

The near and distant future of the Sacramento Kings franchise may be up in the air at the moment, but one thing that is not up for debate is how Keith Smart, the team’s head coach, is a hero of sorts as well as a staunch protector of children. During Sacramento’s game against the Golden State Warriors at Oakland’s ORACLE Arena on Wednesday, Smart snatched an errant pass from...

Michael Beasley Eats 6-7 Packs Of Skittles A Day

In a Q&A with AZ Central’s Paul Coro, Suns forward Michael Beasley reveals he eats a week’s worth of Skittles…every day. Q: Is Skittles still your favorite candy? How often do you have them? A: By far. I have them every day. Not as much as I used to. Probably like six or seven packs a day. Q: Are the athletic trainers and team dieticians good with that? A: I don...

Gah! Enes Kanter suffers dislocated shoulder and it was obvious to all (video)

When Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter made his first appearance in his team’s game against the Phoenix Suns during the second quarter, little did he know that a mere few minutes later he would suffer a ghastly shoulder dislocation. To be honest, at first look, the play that resulted in the injury appeared fairly innocuous. Kanter simply was going to the floor in an effort to gain control...

VIDEO: Kings guard Tyreke Evans pulled off an incredible 360 layup vs the Suns

While 99% of basketball fans were watching the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night, the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns met for a game that was only watchable if, like me, you're a fan of Bill Walton and his commentary (he served as the Kings' color commentator for this game). But, there was an awesome play in the game at least. Watch Kings guard Tyreke Evans make an insane...

Keith Smart Is Also Keith Dexterous, Saves A Kid’s Face

A heads-up play by Sacramento Kings head coach Keith Smart saved the life of baby Newt Gengrich yesterday. Baby Dauber from ‘Coach?’ This is cute, but my favorite part is the kid next to him. Watch him … he cowers from a bouncing basketball even though it’s WAY too far to his left to ever hit him, and when Smart offers a low-five to the kid he actually saved, THIS kid starts...

Suns Dispute Notion Of Tanking

The Phoenix Suns could finish with their worst record since their inaugural season 44 years ago, but the team's veterans insist that there isn't any tanking going on.

Kings-Suns Preview

The Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns have little to play for over the final three weeks of the season but the Kings appear less content to ride out the string. Sacramento seeks its fourth win in six games Thursday night while trying to earn a rare road victory over the lowly Suns. The Kings (26-46) are set to miss the playoffs for a seventh straight season but they have registered...

NBA Rundown – March 28th, 2013

Barry Gossage/NBAE/Getty Images Royalty: DeMarcus Cousins went full on Beast mode last night, feasting on the weak souls of the Phoenix Suns, with 34 points (12 of 16), and a helping of 14 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. His tiny teammate, Isiah Thomas cleaned up the leftovers with 23 points on 6 of 10 shooting and 8 assists. There really weren’t anything the Suns could have done...
