New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire received an epidural injection Thursday to lessen the pain from the bulging disk in his back.
The Knicks said earlier in the week that Stoudemire is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks.
How Stoudemire reacts to the injection could determine his availability for the first round of the NBA playoffs.
The Knicks are 2 1/2 games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Stoudemire is averaging 17.6 points and 8.0 rebounds in his second season with New York.

We've seen some NBA fans get pretty creative with their taunts of opposing players but this New York Knicks fan might take the cake with his taunt.During Wednesday night's Orlando Magic/New York Knicks game, Orlando's Glen Davis was on the free throw line and one fan standing behind the basket decided to point at some food (we're guessing ice cream) he was holding...
