Kobe Bryant has left the United States for an undisclosed medical procedure, though it is unrelated to his Achilles, according to Mark Medina: Kobe Bryant has left the United States for an undisclosed medical procedure unrelated to his surgically repaired left Achilles tendon, according to the Lakers. The Lakers wouldn’t divulge which country Bryant is visiting, the procedure or what any additional injury might entail. But they expect him to return early next week. While the Lakers haven’t revealed where or exactly why Kobe has left the country, it’s worth noting that he has travelled to Germany in the past in order to receive treatment to his knees. According to tweets from Mike Bresnahan and Kevin Ding, Bryant’s trip was planned and won’t limit his rehabilitation: Kobe's procedure, whatever it is, was planned, Coach Mike D'Antoni said. Instead of doing it in August, he's doing it now.— Mike Bresnahan (@Mike_Bresnahan) October 3, 2013 I'm told, separate from Lakers' public statements on Kobe, what is being done will NOT limit his Achilles rehab upon return early next week.— KEVIN DING (@KevinDing) October 3, 2013 Bryant has been making progress over the last few days and even took part in some light jogging and shooting before Wednesday’s practice session. .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } @media(min-width: 500px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } } @media(min-width: 800px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 336px; height: 280px; } }
