The Busch brothers are together once more. On Thursday, Kyle Busch Motorsports announced its driver and sponsorship plans for the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. Brothers Kurt and Kyle Busch will share driving duties of the team's No. 54 Monster Energy Camry in the series, racing for the owners title. Each will also compete full time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, with Kyle continuing in his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing entry and Kurt debuting with Phoenix Racing. Kyle Busch, the driver with the most wins in Nationwide history, will compete in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and the four ensuing races, then split the balance of the season with his older brother, 2004 cup champion Kurt. Monster Energy will be the primary sponsor for the team. "Since debuting in NASCAR, Kyle Busch Motorsports has had the goal to add a championship-caliber Nationwide Series team to our organization," Kyle Busch said. "With today's announcement of Monster Energy as primary sponsor and my brother Kurt as the second driver, we've accomplished that goal." Kyle Busch has 51 wins in the Nationwide Series, including 13 in a record-setting 2010 season. He won the title in 2009. Kurt Busch has 12 career Nationwide starts and three wins. His most recent Nationwide victory came at Watkins Glen in 2011. He will spend additional seat time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, beginning with the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, driving for Phoenix Racing. "Kyle has done an impressive job in building this race team, and I'm proud to be a part of it," Kurt said. "He won a Truck series owners championship in his first year, and his team has kept on winning ever since. Now, it's moving into the Nationwide Series, where the bar will remain high. His expectations are the same as mine, and we know each other better than anyone. We're driven to win, and with Monster Energy driving us, we'll be a tough team to beat." NASCAR veteran Mike Beam will be the crew chief for the team.
