The Birthplace of College Football has officially announced that long time underclassman to Greg Schiano, Kyle Flood, will replace him as the new Head Coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Flood was a member of Schiano’s staff since 2005 and over the years slowly worked his way up to assistant coach. Flood was named interim head coach during the period in which the team stood in limbo after Schiano announced his leaving.
Athletic Director Tim Pernetti seemed confident in his decision and spoke highly of the program as a whole. ”This search was quick. Very targeted, very precise. We knew what we were looking for,” Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti said. “This is not the same job as it was 10 years ago. We’ve built something really special here.”
As for Flood’s new contract he is looking to make a base salary of $750,000 a year with a $100,000 increase per year. His deal is part of a sealed 5 year contract with the Scarlet Knights. Flood ...
