Ouch. And again we say: Ouch. Brewers pitcher Kyle Lohse incurred a nasty pinky injury on his left hand in Monday night’s game, and he did it the last way a pitcher wants to get hurt: running the bases. Well, to be more precise, he was trying to get to first base after laying down a sacrifice bunt. Instead, Lohse’s finger got caught on Padres second baseman Jedd Gyorko, who was covering first. Lohse dislocated his finger on the play, and medical staff came onto the field to pop it back into place. “Kyle’s OK,” Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said, according to The Associated Press. “They put it back in and X-rays were negative and we think he’ll be OK for his next start.” Lohse, a right-handed pitcher, had used his moneymaking fingers to go five innings and allow just one run on five hits. He left after the injury in the sixth. “I’ve done it a couple of times, always in the offseason,” Lohse said. “It will be fine. I think it will probably be swollen a little bit for a couple of days. But because I’ve done it so many times, it will be fine.” Fine or not, it’s a bad-looking injury. Check it out below, with Milwaukee Brewers trainer Dan Wright helping out in the photo below that. @JeffPassan Kyle Lohse's pinky http://t.co/k4Oq0PcGim— Chris Stutz (@STUTZ_OC) April 23, 2013
