A few of you wrote in to this week’s TJB Radio Show asking what was up with the Jets’ running game. The Jets have the No. 7 running game, but they’re not happy with the way things have gone thus far.
The Jets have rushed for 307 yards and a 4.2-yard average in two games, but their ground attack has been inconsistent, sputtering early in both the Houston and New England games before breaking some runs.
Monday, coach Rex Ryan delivered some mild criticism of the offensive line, saying players knew they hadn’t played their best against the Patriots.
“We plan on playing a heck of a game against Tennessee,” right tackle DamienWoody said.
It’s a fair concern as the Jets have not been the dominant running team that they were last week. I argued that the Jets’ passing game constricted the running game’s success this year. But, you guys made a fair point that the O-line hasn’t been as impressive at times in 2009 as compared to ...
