It wasn't long ago that the city of Atlanta lost the Thrashers to Winnipeg. Now, Atlanta-based fox five is saying that there is a group in Los Angeles that is interested in purchasing the Atlanta Falcons. My take? Of course there is a LA based group interested in the Falcons. That group is interested in anything that snaps the football. If they had a chance to get even the lowly Jaquars they would jump at that too but the Falcons? Who wouldn't want one of the four best teams in the NFL? This is a group in LA that is willing to talk to anybody and willing to throw money at anybody in an attempt to forget that the huge market of LA has failed at professional football. Let's not kid ourselves, we aren't talking about hockey here. We are talking about football and more specifically football in the South. The Falcons aren't going anywhere. On the city of Atlanta side? This is all about politics. It's not just a coincidence that Atlanta politician and mayor Kasim Reed is quoted in the article. This is all about getting a new stadium built and it's all about getting it done quicker. They say where there is smoke there is fire but in this case it's politicians politicking. Whether it be Kasim Reed or Arthur Blank, everybody involved wants the best deal possible for themselves and they want it to happen as quick as possible. Don't worry about the Falcons, they aren't going anywhere. LA should do what they do best, quit worrying about football and keep keeping up with the Kardashians.
