My point is I understand the Giants are without Kenny Phillips on the back end and that they have to go light in certain areas of the roster because you only have 53 guys. But if you’re only going to have one backup at safety, shouldn’t it be a better cover guy? I mean, you can find strong safeties a lot easier than you can find cover guys. So in a pinch, it’s easier to pick up a guy who can play down low in the box than a guy who can play up top. Plus, we know Phillips and Michael Johnson can both play down low. So shouldn’t Reese & Co. have looked for more of a free safety in free agency than Brown?
