With the Los Angeles Lakers playing without Kobe Bryant for the first time since the 2009-10 season, they had no problem beating the Kings, while only playing seven players. The Lakers were in need of others to step up because of the ankle injury currently afflicting Bryant and Antawn Jamison and Steve Blake certainly stepped up when needed. Each of them had easily the best games of their respective seasons, as Jamison had a game high 27 points and 9 rebounds, including a 5 for 8 mark from three-point range, while Blake added 16 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds, going 4 for 7 from beyond the arc, in the Lakers’ 113-102 win. However, Jamison and Blake were not the only ones that stepped up Friday. Their two other stars, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash had huge games as well, with Howard scoring 12 points, grabbing 17 rebounds and swatting 5 blocks, while Nash scored 19 points and dished out 12 assists.
