The University of Iowa men's gymnastics team set a new mark for its season high team score, but couldn't edge out No. 6 Minnesota or No. 11 Nebraska in a tri-meet inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The No. 12 Hawkeyes tallied a 334.500 to place third. The Golden Gophers placed first with a 340 while Nebraska finished runner-up with a 336.500.

Tubby Smith has helped put Minnesota back on the map. The Gophers struggled in recent years, but under Smith's direction have become a respectable program in the Big Ten Conference.
