Utah State head soccer coach Heather Cairns announced the 2012 spring schedule on Wednesday. USU will play in eight matches this spring, all on the road and will be highlighted with matches against Utah, BYU and Colorado. Six of the eight matches will be played against in-state teams.

Utah State gymnast Sarah Landes has been named the America First Credit Union Utah State Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Feb. 19, an award that is voted on by a state-wide media panel. It is the second week in a row for Landes to collect the weekly USU accolade.

It took some tough matches and some heartbreaking losses, but the Utah State men's tennis team extended its winning streak to three in a row with a hard fought, 4-3, win over Weber State on Wednesday at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club.

Softball. Utah State Falters Against In-State Foe Southern Utah On Monday

Utah State softball was defeated by Beehive State-foe Southern Utah in both games of Monday's doubleheader. SUU defeated USU, 9-3 in the first game and 7-2 in the second game. The games were played in St. George due to weather conditions in Cedar City, Utah. The Thunderbirds overpowered USU with their offense, by tallying 20 hits in the two games.
