One of the hot-button topics right now is the status of The Undertaker.  Fans want to know if he will be sticking around for a little while or taking another extended absence.  It seems that many fans have grown accustomed to the pattern of him working a WrestleMania match and then taking a year off with a one-off appearance here and there.  This year, it seems that things are different as the Undertaker appeared on more episodes of RAW leading up to WrestleMania 29 as well as his surprising matches on RAW & Smackdown with The Shield. According to a report by PWInsider, The Undertaker has come out of his most recent WrestleMania run “in much better condition” than in “years”.  This is attributed to a revamped diet and exercise regimen that the Dead Man has implemented.  Furthermore, the extensive rehab that he had on his surgically repaired hip has paid dividends.  Another big difference is that in years past, The Undertaker went into his WrestleMania matches with the mindset of “this could be my last match” and really overdid some things.  This year, he played it safe against CM Punk while doing everything within his boundaries to give the fans a memorable match. As far as when The Undertaker will return, it’s said that his match on this past Friday against The Shield’s Dean Ambrose is his last match “for the foreseeable future” despite his improved condition.  The WWE did this match mainly as a special attraction to the fans in England who haven’t seen him live in many years as well as to make up for the absences of CM Punk and Chris Jericho.  The WWE also wanted to continue putting over The Shield and felt like fans would believe that if there was anyone left who could defeat the trio, that it would be The Undertaker or some team led by him.  Nonetheless, the report states that The Undertaker is “rejuvenated” and in the best shape, physically and mentally, he’s been in years. As of right now, the WWE is considering bringing The Undertaker back for a match of some type against The Shield, but it’s in no way concrete.  What is concrete, however, is that the Undertaker will indeed be lacing up the boots once again at WrestleMania 30.
