Even though the game was already over, that didn’t stop the Sharks and Wild getting into some extracurricular activities after the final horn sounded following Wednesday’s Sharks win. Because postgame hockey altercations are the best hockey altercations.
It was mostly minor stuff, just the usual exchanging of shoves and expletives. But there was one incident between former teammates part of the commotion that drew the attention of the NHL on Friday.
Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic and former Sharks forward Dany Heatley exchanged slashes and jabs off to the side:

Heatley skated off the ice in visible pain, paying special attention to his left wrist.
Minnesota’s coach Mike Yeo said after the game that it already looks like Heatley will be missing time because of the injury. For whatever it’s worth, Vlasic was issued a slashing major and a game-misconduct after the game was over, which is about as futile a penalty can be.
