Mark Martin got his No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota around Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in 21.040 seconds on Friday to claim the pole for the Capital City 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race to be held at the track on Saturday. With the pole run, Martin broke his own record of being the oldest Cup Series pole sitter at 53 years, three months and 19 days old. “I didn’t think I could get the pole,” Martin said. “We were on keel off the truck and wanted to get the last draw so we’d have our best shot at it.” Carl Edwards will start his No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing Ford next to Martin on the front row after turning the second-fastest qualifying lap with a time of 21.046 seconds. “We haven’t bee very good in qualifying for about the last month and (car owner) Jack (Roush) said he has quit giving me advice because he thought that was part of it,” Edwards said. “But he hasn’t said anything in about a month, and I asked if he had any advice and he said, ‘No sir, I am not saying anythi
