PLAYERS: Max Gortz
The fourth and final Predators prospect to make a preliminary roster for his native country was Max Gortz for Team Sweden. Last year, Sweden won the World Juniors Championship against Russia when Mika Zibanajad scored the game winner on a breakaway. Now, Team Sweden looks to repeat, hopefully with Gortz on the roster. Gortz was drafted by Nashville in the 6th round, 172nd overall of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Currently, the Swede plays for Farjestads BK Karlstad in the Swedish Elite League. There, Gortz has five goals, three assists in 29 games. It seems unlikely Max Gortz will make the final cut, but if he does do so, expect fourth line playing time. Sweden has a nice development of good hockey players and it will be tough to make this team. Team Sweden is the team to watch--other than Team Canada--this World Juniors.
