NEW ORLEANS - MARCH 20: Coach John Calipari of the Kentucky Wildcats talks to his team during the second round of the 2010 NCAA men's basketball tournament at the New Orleans Arena on March 20, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Dave Martin/Getty Images)
Earlier today, I was writing an article and realized I was officially talking about 2015 players. The first player from this class that anyone talked about was Karl Towns. Now that Towns has reclassified and committed to Kentucky, where will John Calipari go to establish another dominant recruiting class? This prized recruit is only 16 years old, and comes all the way from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.   Back in 2010, when a monster earthquake rocked the small island nation of Haiti, Skal Labissiere wasn’t sure he was going to survive after being trapped in debris. Now, he is playing high school basketball in Memphis, Tennessee and is currently the only 2015 prospect to have an offer from John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Skal is 6’9”, extremely skilled for his age, can repost, use either hand for a hook shot, passes out of double teams, and can shoot out to 17 feet. For someone so young to already have an offer from John Calipari, his upside must be through the roof.   In 18 months, Labissiere has survived a catastrophic earthquake, learned English, and has won a state championship. After being a role player last year, he has moved into the starting lineup for this year. He leads his team in scoring (17.8 pts.) and rebounding (9.6 rpg), and is a 5-star recruit according to ESPN. He is ranked 5th in ESPN’s Top 25 for the 2015 class, best in his state, and 2nd at the center position. Here are some highlights of his game: YouTube Credit: CityLeagueHoopsTV YouTube Credit: CLHTV2
