Apparently, everybody in the National Football League wants to be a character from the Transformers. It must be the cool thing to do nowadays. But I implore the rest of the NFL to stop making Transformers references in regard to which character they feel they most resemble in terms of their dominance. It is time to stop. The only person to whom I am not referring is Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. It is not because I like him better or that he is better than everyone else related to the Transformers characters throughout the NFL. Actually, he is, but that is not why I am excusing him from all of this Transformers talk. Johnson never gave himself the nickname of Megatron. It is not self-proclaimed. he is that dominant on the field, leading others to don him with the Megatron moniker, which is quite fitting. It is these other wannabe’s who are making me sick. You do not give yourself a nickname. Others give them to you, and they should be earned. Seattle Seahawks defensive...

Tramon Williams calls himself Optimus Prime, says Calvin Johnson pushed Richard Sherman around

Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams is apparently not very original. Earlier this week, Williams dubbed himself “Optimus Prime” in anticipation of his upcoming matchup against Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, a.k.a. Megatron. That sounds awfully familiar. A few weeks ago, Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman changed his Twitter name to Optimus Prime for...

Williams eager for chance to shut down Johnson

The temptation when playing a receiver as big, strong and scary good as Calvin Johnson is to get aggressive, try to outmuscle him and hope it throws him off his game. Do that, and you may as well ask the Screen Actors Guild for membership because the highlights of Megatron's mega-day will be all over TV for the rest of the week. Maybe the rest of the season. Just ask Green...

Williams Eager For Mega Challenge

Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams says he’s the real “Optimus Prime” when it comes to facing off against Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson aka “Megatron.” “I’m definitely Optimus Prime,” Williams said, per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “I’m the leader of the Autobots. I’m the leader of the young guys right now and when it comes down to the tough...
