The Miami Hurricanes aren’t slowing down after completing 2014′s National Signing Day. Ryan Fines, defensive tackle from Manatee High School (Bradenton, FL) has been offered a football scholarship from the Hurricanes. The 6’3″ 292 pound junior recorded 44 tackles in two years of varsity football including three sacks and three fumble recoveries. He can bench 365 pounds. Fines also received an offer from South Florida. He and his family are Florida Gators fans. Manatee, also named the Hurricanes, had a school record 12 football players sign letters of intent on National Signing Day. Most notably, Fines’ fellow defensive lineman Demarcus Christmas signed to Florida State. Rivals ranked Christmas a 4-star athlete, the sixth player in his position. This year, Miami lost 4-star defensive tackle Travonte Valentine to LSU. But on Wednesday, the Hurricanes signed defensive ends Chad Thomas, Mike Smith and Demetrious Jackson along with defensive tackles Michael Wyche, Anthony Moten, and Courtel Jenkins. Trent Harris and Calvin Heurtelou enrolled in January and will also play on the defensive line. In 2013, the Hurricanes defense allowed 426.4 yards per game. They were 77th in the nation in rushing defense allowing 176.5 yards on the ground and 52nd in the nation with 29 sacks.
