Found October 25, 2013 on CaneInsider:
Today there is more confirmation from the University of Miami’s internal leadership that lends itself to CaneINsider’s September report that the football team will likely debut new Nike Uniforms during the 2014 season.  CaneINsider broke the story exclusively in September with the report on the Nike catalog. Up till now, both Nike and the University of Miami have been mum.  Today we learned about comments made at the 2013 Collegiate Athletics Leadership Symposium by Miami athletic director Blake James via the Twitter account of Associate Director of Athletics for Communications & Marketing for the University of Miami, Chris Freet: At #CALS2013 @CanesAllAccess said on #Canes brand & Nike, “We were Oregon before Oregon was Oregon. We want to be BACK on the cutting edge.” — Chris Freet (@ChrisFreet) October 25, 2013 Freet was then implored by a fan to leave the current Miami Hurricanes football helmets alone in any potential change. To which, he replied: @MiamiStrong@CanesAllAccess Blake followed up and said, “We’re open to any idea, just do not touch the U (logo).” — Chris Freet (@ChrisFreet) October 25, 2013 So while Miami has still not gone “on the record” there are great indications that there will be a significant modification to the 2014 Miami Hurricane uniforms next football season. Something the fan base has been eager to see for quite some time. Miami TE Walford's one-handed catch provides rare 'Canes highlight
