Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in two weeks in Washington, but the embattled Vick will be playing a bit differently this year, thanks to what he believes is an unfair label tacked upon him by the media.
Whether that leads to his staying healthy remains to be seen. It's critical for Vick, who has played 16 games just once in his career. He's missed eight starts during the last two seasons because of injury.
"Some were random, some were positions I put myself in," Vick said. "And just sometimes being in the wrong place in the wrong time."
The injuries have ranged from a concussion to rib injuries to a hand injury. But Vick has often disputed the "injury-prone" label, and he does not think he's as injured as his reputation suggests.
"You guys act like I get hurt once a week," Vick said to reporters. "You all did that to me. Made me change the way I played the game."
Well, here's the thing Michael: you *are* injury prone. You have played all 16 games in a season just once in your career. You've missed at least three games in every year since returning to the NFL from your prison sentence.
It would be one thing if Vick had changed his style for the sensible reason (that he's aging and nowhere near the player he was in his heyday with the Falcons), but blaming the media for the changes thanks to a fair label? Nah, that's not cool. Vick's going to be running like he did with the Falcons this season, injuries be damned,
You might want to get a handle on those turnovers, though. If you give the ball away twice a game like you did last year, the Philly media and fans are going to eat you up like you wouldn't believe, and the injury-prone label will be the least of your concerns.

After two stellar preseason performances against New England and Carolina, Michael Vick came into Saturday night’s preseason game as the starting QB. Since winning the competition Vick has said all the right things, but it was time to step onto the field and prove to his coach that he made the right decision.
At first glance, his performance left much to be desired, and Nick Foles’...
At this point, everyone knows the Michael Vick story.
The Virginia Tech product, was drafted number one overall by the Atlanta Falcons in 2001. He came into the NFL and immediately began to create a following.
Vick was special. He had running back speed and his arm was touched by the football gods. Vick, although only completing a full season once, was handed a $135 million contract...
Most people figured that Michael Vick would be the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles come opening day. The reasoning and rationale may have varied from person to person, but the end result was the same. However, one person’s reasoning surfaced recently that I found interesting. Former Dallas wide receiver Michael Irvin offered his take on why Kelly chose Vick over...
Mike Vick has looked flawless this preseason. Vick won the quarterback battle between him and Nick Foles handily. Through two games and in less than 40 snaps,Vick went 12 for 13 for 199 yards, with another 20 yards rushing and moat importantly, led two touchdown drives. Though Mike Vick has said that this new offense […]
Michael Vick took off running way more than the Philadelphia Eagles would like Saturday night.`
He also threw an interception while trying to get rid of the ball.
It wasn't his best performance of the preseason. But it wasn't cause for alarm, either, coach Chip Kelly said following his team's 31-24 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
''Hopefully we get that...

We reported this week that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick plans on running a lot more this season and isn’t worried about getting injured.
Former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin can’t believe how “stupid” Vick is.
“It’s stupid,” Irvin said, via The Sporting News. “You cannot be this stupid. You cannot be this dumb. It’s impossible. Your [butt] has been hurt...
Never one to mince words during his playing days or his current time as an analyst, Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has a simple message for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.
While at the NFL Network's launch party on Wednesday, Irvin was discussing Vick's inability to stay healthy and his lack of understanding of when to slide.
"Somebody's got to say that...
First year Philadelphia Eagles Head.Coach Chip Kelly found himself in an enviable position. He needed to pick who his starting quarterback was going to be and both of his options were playing well during the preseason.Prior to the third preseason game he went ahead and picked the veteran, Michael Vick. From the looks of the game against Jacksonville it was a pretty good choice.
Michael Irvin loves how Michael Vick plays thinks he has earned the starting job the Philadelphia Eagles just officially gave him and believes he is the best fit for the team right now.
But Irvin does not understand how 11 years into his career Vick has not learned how to slide to protect himself.
“It’s mind-boggling’’ Irvin the Hall of Fame receiver and a co-host for NFL...
Michael Irvin certainly has his interesting moments as a NFL Analyst/Commentator. What would you expect from someone who used to wear golden suits on a NFL sideline? The time Michael Irvin referred to Tim Tebow as literally God’s Son, was quite interesting. (I guess God doesn’t want his son to be an actual NFL quarterback now)
Now Michael Irvin questions the intelligence of Mike...
Last week, Chip Kelly officially announced that Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles to start the 2013-14 season. This wasn’t exactly a surprise. Vick has had an excellent preseason and is the more experienced player, as well as the bigger locker room presence.
Foles was, undoubtedly disappointed. And of course, some people in the Philadelphia...

Fantasy Football is an American past time. Well not really, but it’s getting so popular that almost every fan across the country participates in some sort of Fantasy Football league.
While your first and second round picks may end up being your best two players, it is usually the guys you draft in the 9th-16th rounds that separate your team from the rest. Everyone’s top two or...
Week 3 of the preseason is here! Each passing week simply means that the regular season is just that much closer. This week’s task is set on the Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be the first of two away games to conclude the 2013 preseason. This preseason has looked quite promising for Eagles fans for the most part. We’ve seen some of Chip Kelly’s up-tempo offense. We’ve also...
