Eddie Lacy was the star of the Green Bay Packers' intrasquad scrimmage last Saturday night. But coach Mike McCarthy isn't ready to give the rookie the starting halfback job quite yet at least not until he gets a look at DuJuan Harris. "I'm excited to see when DuJuan Harris comes back because I view him as our starter" McCarthy told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday. "I want him to get back in there and earn it like he did all of last year. He made an impact in our offense." Harris 24 ran for 257 yards on 62 carries (4.1 average) over six games including two playoff contests after injuries made room for his promotion from the practice squad Dec. 1. But he missed time in the offseason after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from one of his lungs then opened training camp on the active/physically unable to perform list because of a knee injury that might keep him out another week or two. It may be only a matter of time until the Packers give the job to ...

Packers GM on Eddie Lacy: “He looked a lot like he did at Alabama”

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson was very impressed with what he saw from rookie running back Eddie Lacy during last weekend’s scrimmage. “He looked a lot like he did at Alabama,” said Thompson, regarding Lacy’s performance.“He’s a very decisive runner, he’s strong, he’s powerful, he’s big. Eddie Lacy is Looking Like the Starter In Cheeseland

There has been a lot of debate over who will be the starting RB for the Packers.  Last week the picture of Lacy looking like Ron Dayne with dreads surfaced and Twitter went berserk.  The Packers will run more than people think and could set Lacy up for plenty of short TDs, if they don’t give it to Kuhn or something stupid like that. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky had this to say about...

Fantasy outlook: Packers Eddie Lacy & Broncos Montee Ball

Rookie running backs are often very tempting to grab in the middle rounds of a fantasy draft. The potential for an unlimited ceiling and keeper value is difficult to overlook. This year the depth at RB is unbelievably shallow. The top tier is well established, but moving outside of the top 20 gets ugly, and leaves a lot to chance. 2013 is not the year to take that chance on a rookie...
