PLAYERS: Mike Trout
TEAMS: Los Angeles Angels

Aww…ladies, he’s sadly taken. I don’t know if it’s pathetic or kinda cute, but the 21-year-old Rookie of the year and 2nd in last year’s MVP race lived in his parent’s basement last off season. Not sure if that’s also where he stashed his RoY throphy, but it’s where he rested his head according to Philadelphia magazine via Busted Coverage: As Trout’s star has ascended, he’s shared a sliver of the national spotlight with Millville, New Jersey, the working-class town near the Jersey Shore that he still calls home. (The All-Star spent the winter in his parents’ basement.)… The article goes on about how Trout is the pride and joy of his small NJ town of Millville, and how he’s just a good small town kid enjoying life. Awwww…. I must admit, it’s times like this where you just want to call over Rob Gronkowski and show this young man how someone who’s one of the best in the sport should wind down. But at the same time it’s refreshing to see the fame and accolades haven’t gone to Trout’s head. Good kid.

Angels updates: Tommy Hanson, Jason Vargas, Sean Burnett

As the Angels' offense is starting to come around the pitching improving overall, the City of Angels got more good news with three injured players on the comeback according to Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com. Tommy Hanson threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, his first since suffering a right forearm strain prior to a start on June 26. He'll throw another in Seattle this weekend...

Angels' Tommy Hanson slated for first bullpen session today

The Los Angeles Angels could soon get Tommy Hanson back.  The veteran starter has been rehabbing a right forearm strain, but he is about to take a major step forward.  Hanson is still likely going to be out for a few weeks after the All-Star break, but at least the Angels can start looking forward to his return, barring nay setbacks of course. Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com says...

Los Angeles Angels Fans Finally Get a Taste of What They've Been Hoping For

The last two season the Los Angeles Angels made the biggest splash in free agency, first by snagging home run machine Albert Pujols from the St. Louis Cardinals and than by stealing slugger Josh Hamilton from their division rival (Texas Rangers)-- and it really hasn't been worth the money at all. That it is, until Wednesday night against the lowly Chicago Cubs. Hamilton...

Hamilton hits 2 HRs, Angels hit 5 to rout Cubs

Josh Hamilton hit two home runs, Albert Pujols also connected and the Los Angeles went deep a season-high five times in a 13-2 rout of the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night. Mark Trumbo and Brendan Harris also homered for the Angels. All five of the Angels' home runs were no-doubters. They hit a pair during a five-run first inning and then followed with three more in a six-run...

Angels Trade Candidate: Prospects

Thanks a lot, Angels. Here I am doing a weekly series on which players on your MLB roster you should trade at the deadline since you are so obviously going to be a seller and you have to go and rattle off a winning streak to put yourselves within striking distance of .500 and spitting distance of the Wild Card race. Now I don't know if the Halos are going to be buyers or...

Contest: Hilarious Halo Images

By Geoff Stoddart, AngelsWin.com Direct of Social Media Baseball is full of drama.  Full of suspense.  Full of jubilation.  Full of disappoint.  But more than anything, baseball is full of fun!  From sprinklers gone awry, to bugs where they don't belong, to players coming to the ballpark on skateboards and rickshaws, at its core baseball is a lighthearted romp through...

The Fun Is Just Starting, Angels Beat The Cubs 13-2

Holy guacamole! The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim put a pretty serious butt kicking on the Chicago Cubs tonight, with a 13-2 win. It seemed like everyone in the Angels lineup was “on” tonight, as all starters, including starting pitcher C.J. Wilson, had at least one hit tonight and the team had a total of 15 by the end of the game. Speaking of C.J. Wilson, he didn’t have too...

Trade Candidate: Howie Kendrick?

By Robert Cunningham, AngelsWin.com Staff Writer -   As the trade deadline approaches, teams come to terms with where they are in the standings and have to choose whether they are sellers, buyers, or neutral in the trade market. The Angels are still below .500 in team winning percentage and, soon, Jerry Dipoto and the front office have to make the tough decision to either, stand...

A Papi Trout

As Major League Baseball heads into the All-Star break two players stood out for me personally this week. Being a former pitcher, surprisingly neither of them are pitchers. Instead, they are two hitters from the American League, Mike Trout and David Ortiz. First, there is David Ortiz. Big Papi this week became the leader in hits by a designated hitter. Ortiz is 37 years old and...

The Halos clobber Samardzija; Angels defeat the Cubs, 13-2

If this is how it's going to be the rest of the season, the Angels may still be in for quite the postseason run. When owner Arte Moreno lured Josh Hamilton away from the Texas Rangers last winter, he envisioned nights like this one occurring all summer long. Angels fans anticipated an offense so prodigious that every ballpark the ballclub set foot in would be painted red after...

Team Value in Return or, How the Astros are Still a Laughing Stock

Casual baseball fans, think about the game on a semi-regular basis. How do I know this? I too was once a casual fan. Bloggers, are not casual fans. We spend our spare time thinking about what we can write about next and whether or not we wrote about it a week ago, or if some other blog has already tackled the subject. In other words, our bottles of soap and shampoo last much longer...
