In my eyes, this can be looked at in two ways:
First of all, with everything that has happened since the loss to AZ in the NCF championship game, J.J. passes, Dawkins to Denver, Runyan and Thomas gone, and not to mention the abundance of injuries thus far in camp and preseason, DO WE NEED ANOTHER DISTRACTION? This signing has "season down the drain" written all over it. Teams with distractions do not go far, and Michael Vick is the Great Dane of distractions. He doesn't seem remorseful for what he has done, just for getting caught. Is McNabb going to be ok with this? Probably because he is signed for two years and Vick cant even play until week 7, and he isnt all that good of a qb to begin with. Is Kolb done, or is AJ on his way out? Kolb hasn't had the best of camps, possible trade bait? Or is AJ bait or cut?
OR, maybe the Eagles are looking at this in more of a business type aspect, because who wants to be the first team to sign Vick? If the Eagles hype up Vick for a couple months why wouldn't some despearate team want to trade for him? They wont take nearly the same amount of publicity rath that the Eagles inevitably will.
