Is this still a thing, making fun of Chargers LB Manti Te’o and his fake dead girlfriend, seeing that the story broke some four months ago? I mean, it was slightly amusing when Lennay ranked No. 69 in Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list, but honestly, hasn’t making fun of Te’o getting catfished just about run its course? Apparently not, especially when it comes to the world of minor league baseball and their oftentimes clever, occasionally wacky, gameday promotions. The Frontier League’s Florence Freedom (out of Florence, Ky., y’all) is hosting a Manti Te’o Girlfriend Bobblehead Night on May 23, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a collector’s edition Lennay Kekua bobblehead, which, of course, will be nothing more than an empty box… Somewhat appropriate I think, considering this empty box will illicit a lot of empty laughter. Time to put the Lennay Kekua/Manti Te’o jokes, gags, and other assorted flotsam to rest once and for all.
