Tom Jurich Says He’s Been Begging To Play Notre Dame For Years

University of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich was a guest speaker to the Louisville Rotary club on Thursday afternoon. Jurich talked about many things during his speech, including paying college players, Louisville’s 2013 basketball championship, the move to the ACC and Teddy Bridgewater’s rise to fame. One comment from his speech that stood out to me the most was what...

Brady Hoke as Fred Flintstone, clocking out on Notre Dame GIF? Thank you, LSUFreek

This is a GIF masterpiece if there ever was one. Brady Hoke as Fred Flintstone, clocking out on Notre Dame forever.

Video: Notre Dame TE Troy Niklas, Known As ‘Hercules’, Reveals His Max Bench Press

Troy isn’t afraid to strike a pose One reason for that is his play on the field — Niklas has two touchdown receptions in the team’s first two games and currently averages 71 yards per game. Another reason is the 6-foot-7, 270-pound converted linebacker’s larger-than-life personality. Niklas, who is nicknamed “Hercules,” has gained a reputation as one of the team’s strongest...

Handsome Hour: Notre Dame Week

First off, apologies for the late posting of the Handsome Hour for this week. A number of travel and work-related obstacles prevented me from editing and then posting the Handsome Hour. However, the good news is that even if you can't listen to this before the game, there's still plenty to enjoy. It's marinated and tenderized and ready for your consumption. Ways to enjoy...

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Purde Boilermakers: Odds, Point Spread, Over/Under and tv info

Notre Dame’s win against Purdue was one of its signature performances early last season. This Saturday the Fighting Irish look to use Purdue to soften the blow up a loss last week to Michigan. The No. 21 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-1) travel to Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana to play against their instate rivals – the Purdue Boilermakers. (1-1) ABC will have coverage...

Victory: Notre Dame 31, Purdue 24

Notre Dame was in search of a lot answers Saturday Night after its loss to Michigan, but instead, the Irish have even more questions after its 31-24 victory over Purdue. The Irish have been plagued by slow starts in this young season, and this game was no different. In the first 4 offensive drives, Notre Dame ran 22 plays for 57 yards and ZERO points. The defense looked...

The Anti-Preview: Notre Dame At Purdue

The Anti-Preview is still a little sore. Life got a little rougher last week after Notre Dame's 41-30 loss to Michigan. The Irish went up to Ann Arbor and looked completely outplayed, outcoached, and outclassed (ouch that last one really hurts to say). At any rate, the season doesn't end in week two and there are still a lot of things that this team can accomplish. What...

Carlisle emerging as Notre Dame's top rusher

(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By TOM COYNE Associated Press Notre Dame running back Amir Carlisle calls it an ''interesting, fun dynamic'' that he will be facing Purdue on Saturday, where his father is the football team's director of sports performance. More important to Carlisle: He says it's a must-win for the 21st-ranked Irish (1-1) following their...

Post-Purdue: Cam McDaniel

Notre Dame running back Cam McDaniel discusses his grind-it-out performance, including 16 rushes for 56 yards in Notre Dame's win over Purdue.

Boilermakers fall just short

In the end, Notre Dame was just too much for Purdue, earning a 31-24 victory in Ross-Ade Stadium. While Darrell Hazell won't accept moral victories for his program, he sure can be pleased with the heart his team showed.

A Higher Standard

Notre Dame didn't receive theirs until the team re-took the field following the halftime break. From there they looked competent and competitive though nowhere near the admirable collection of championship contenders that took the field last fall.

Rees has Boilermakers' respect

Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees has challenged the Boilermakers each time the two rivals have taken the field. There's no questioning that those in the Purdue locker room have great respect for Notre Dame's quarterback.

Kelly Q&A: Post-Game

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly addressed the media following his team's 31-24 comeback win in West Lafayette.
