New Mississippi football coach Hugh Freeze has brought four of his Arkansas State assistants with him to the Rebels. Veteran Dave Wommack was named Ole Miss' defensive coordinator and safeties coach. He has more than 30 years of college coaching experience, including stops at Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Southern Miss and UNLV. Freeze also announced Maurice Harris will be the recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach, Tom Allen will be linebackers coach and Chris Kiffin will be the defensive line coach. Kiffin is the younger brother of Southern California coach Lane Kiffin. Freeze led Arkansas State to a 10-2 record this fall, including an 8-0 record in the Sun Belt Conference. Neither Freeze nor his assistants will coach the Red Wolves against Northern Illinois in the GoDaddy.com Bowl on Jan. 8.
