October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, which means everyone will be thinking pink and wearing pink for the majority of the month.  The NFL already kicked off their campaign by having players, coaches and refs clad in the color pink this past weekend, and will continue to do so for games played in the month of October. But some pink gloves here and a ref’s pink whistle there are small potatoes compared to the pinkstravaganza on display at Mediacom Ice Park, home arena for the Missouri State Ice Bears.  The facility teamed with the Ice Bears to support breast cancer awareness by dubbing the October 7 and 8 games against Northern Illinois as “Making Strides On Pink Ice” to benefit the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Walk on October 15. Yeah the ice might be hard to look at, and may even give the players fits because of it’s eerie, radiant pink glow, but you can’t argue with the good cause it’s helping to support.
