Corey Winfield, out of Riverview Gardens HS (Mo.), holds one scholarship offer. Saturday he attended Oklahoma State's spring game, and talked with Fox Sports Next about what he thought of the visit.
BEST OF MAXIM
Arguably the greatest quarterback in school history, Brandon Weeden has left some enormous shoes to fill for the Oklahoma St. Cowboys. After sizing up the candidates to be his successor in yesterday's spring game, the best fit doesn't seem clear.
Is it fourth-year junior Clint Chelf, Weeden's experienced understudy? What about redshirt freshman J.W. Walsh, whose mobility...
Here is our 10-point wish list for the Oklahoma State football program for this summer. Summers and Rob Glass and his staff have played a huge role in setting up the Cowboys success over the last several seasons, and the 41-in-4 campaigns. That is, in case you missed it, the number of games that the Cowboys have won over the past four seasons.
One of Oklahoma State's prime targets in the 2013 recruiting class is a speedy, versatile, excels-in-space running back. Speedster Dontre Wilson of DeSoto, Texas fits the bill with his 767 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns on the ground as a junior and his 246 receiving yards and two more touchdowns.
Junior running back Joseph Randle is obviously one of the Cowboys' biggest returning weapons on offense after rushing for 1,216 yards and getting 26 combined touchdowns in 2011. Randle had one reception for eight yards and eight carries for 30 yards in Saturday's spring finale in Stillwater. He spoke to the media afterward.
OSU senior center Evan Epstein, a transfer from the Air Force Academy, has seen action in eight games during his two years with the Cowboys and got the nod with the first-team offense during the spring finale on Saturday. Afterward Epstein took the time to meet with the media to discuss the scrimmage and the OSU offense.
Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Todd Monken will return to Stillwater on Wednesday after being on the road to meet with head coach Mike Gundy, and the two are expected to name a starting quarterback. But in the meantime, Monken is charged with finding the Cowboys quarterback for the 2013 class. One he'll be stopping to see this week is Zach Allen out of Temple, Texas.
One of the top prospects in Kansas is Blue Valley High School offensive tackle Clay Rhodes. Rhodes said he likely made his last unofficial visit to a school on Saturday where he collected a scholarship offer from Oklahoma State, to go along with others from Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Tulsa, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Purdue.
Charlie Moore had quietly been having a solid spring for the Cowboys but there was nothing quiet about his performance in the Oklahoma State Spring Football Finale on Saturday in Stillwater.
What does a player do after going out in front of nearly 20,000 orange clad fans and catching nine passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns? Well, on Saturday evening Oklahoma State junior wide receiver Charlie Moore took off for the park with his brother and some other friends for a game of ultimate frisbee, and some more of showing off how well he can receive.
