Bristol, TN- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch is trying to complete the Bristol sweep this weekend. He’s already well on his way as he has one race left to do so. Busch won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Bristol Motor Speedway Wednesday night then followed that up with a dominating NASCAR Nationwide Series victory Friday night in the Food City 250. Busch led a race-high 226 laps Friday night en route to his eight Nationwide victory of the season. He started from the pole and only gave up the lead to one other guy for 24 laps due to Rowdy needing to pit for service. He regained the lead on Lap 129 and never looked back. Now Saturday night he will try and complete the sweep for the second time in four years as he swept the weekend in 2010. He faces a tall task, though, as he will have to do it from the back of the field in the Irwin Tools night race. Busch was quickest in Sprint Cup final practice Friday afternoon and was among the favorites for the pole but lost control of his No. 18 Doublemint Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in between Turns 3 and 4 on his opening lap. He made the swift decision to not cross the finish line and go around backwards to the front stretch and try it again. After making his first lap he lost control again off Turn 2 and hit the inside backstretch wall. He limped back around and will start 43rd in Saturday night’s race. Rowdy will have to put his money where his mouth is coming from dead last. Luckily, he has 500 laps to do so and certainly could do it.   Eric Smith is the Lead Motorsports Writer for Race Review Online.
