Earlier this week, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant proclaimed that he can do anything that Lions superstar Calvin Johnson can do, and Bryant’s claim quickly went viral.
When word of Bryant’s quotes made it’s way to Lions veteran Nate Burleson, Burleson responded by offering his perspective on the comparison:
Burleson, who is out with a broken arm, called Johnson – considered by many to be the league’s top receiver – a “living legend.”
“Listen, I like Dez. I think he’s one of the best receivers in the game right now,” Burleson said. “Very talented. Fast, big, strong. He possesses all the tools to possibly be as good as Calvin. But he’s not Calvin Johnson. No way, no how. Sorry, Dez. Keep it real.”
Burleson has also played with the great Randy Moss, so he knows what a great receiver is when he sees one. Bryant himself tweeted about how quickly his quotes got around and were dissected by the media:
I see I have to be extra careful about what I say

While Bryant is really good in his own right and compares well to Johnson statistically over the last season or so, when it comes to pure ability, Megatron is in a category all his own.
