The Brooklyn Nets signed Billy King to a contract extension last week to remain general manager, but sources expect Mikhail Prokhorov to again pursue Phil Jackson.
Prokhorov reached out to Jackson following the dismissal of Avery Johnson.
Jackson is interested in an advisory front office position and not in returning to coaching.

Brook Lopez has a funny reason for wanting the season to continue, aside from the obvious reasons of wanting his team to win.
Brook Lopez had 28 points and 10 rebounds, Deron Williams added 23 points and 10 assists, and the Brooklyn Nets beat Chicago 110-91 on Monday night, cutting the Bulls' lead to 3-2 in their first-round playoff series.
Andray Blatche scored 10 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter and Gerald Wallace had consecutive baskets down the stretch as the Nets finally pulled away in a...
No one is going to argue with the fact that this year’s first round of the NBA playoffs hasn’t exactly been the most exciting of all time. However, the halftime shows are really pulling out all the stops to keep the fans entertained. During halftime of Monday night’s Nets and Bulls playoff game a speed painting artist painted Deron Williams during the 20 minute break. The...
Typically this late into a NBA season, there has to be something motivating a player for the long haul of the playoffs. Whether that be the chase for that coveted championship ring, a new contract, or simply just the love of the game, there is something internally that motivates a player.
Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has positioned himself as one of the best big men in...
The Nets didn’t watch tape of the Game 4 collapse and ensuing triple OT Bulls victory to prepare for their Game 5 win. Head coach P.J. Carlesimo instead had his team watch footage of Bulls beat writer, Joe Cowley (Chicago Sun-Times), calling the Nets “heartless” and “gutless” in hopes of added motivation.
According to The Brooklyn Game:
Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams...
Nate Robinson has a very low center of gravity which allows him to do things like cross up defenders without losing control. Nate’s latest victim was Deron Williams of the Nets on Monday night during Game 5 of their Playoff series. He also finished the play with a very nice circus shot.

One of the great things that has come from the Brooklyn Nets/Chicago Bulls series is the re-emergence of Bulls guard Nate Robinson. In the third quarter of game four, Robinson showed Nets guard Deron Williams that his speed might be the most dangerous thing about him. Watch as Nate crosses Williams over and scores on a scooping lay-up:
The Nets took advantage of opportunities in Game 5.
The Brooklyn Nets won Game 5 by the same formula that worked for them in their series-opening win against the Chicago Bulls.
Let’s take a closer look at how the Nets staved off elimination.
Key Player: Deron Williams had it much easier vs Nate Robinson
With Kirk Hinrich out of the lineup in Game 5, Nate Robinson drew the start...
Bulls Beat Writer Joe Cowley said that the Bulls have been privately saying that the Nets are "Gutless & Heartless". He also said Deron Williams had a history of getting 'frustrating and and and...."...

Sad Deron is sad. Mad Deron is mad. Angry Nets fans are angry. Bad P.J. is bad. Desperate Nets are desperate
Crunch time never felt like more of an accurate term. With their proverbial backs crunched up against a proverbial wall of spikes (the Bulls/elimination game), the Brooklyn Nets need a real (non-proverbial) win later tonight at the Barclays Center in order...
I can't believe I'm saying this, but C.J. Watson might be the reason why the Nets are losing this series 3-1 instead of winning it 3-1. His missed wide-open three at the end of Game 3 and infamously blown in Game 4 just may have cost the Nets two wins in Chicago. But those games are done now, and Brooklyn is on life support in this series, desperately needing a huge home...
Chicago couldn't stop Brook at all tonight, simply put. This entire series has continued to act as a showcase of his clearly elite-level talent
I'll keep it short because it's late and I got back from the game pretty late too, but the Brooklyn Nets--facing elimination from the 2013 playoffs--stepped up in a massive way to hold on and beat the pesky...
