PLAYERS: Brook Lopez
TEAMS: Brooklyn Nets
D2
Brook Lopez underwent an MRI on his foot as expected.  The results came back negative which was a relief for the Brooklyn Nets, but he will still be listed as day to day.  The injury occurred last Wednesday, and Lopez has missed the last two games. According to Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York, Lopez is expected to miss Tuesday night's game.  The sprained foot is not expected to keep Lopez sidelined for now, but the Nets are being as cautious as possible. Lopez is having another good year for Brooklyn.  He is averaging 18.5 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.  He's having a fantastic year, but with the Nets building a better team around him, he doesn't have to be the go-to guy.  The new make-up of the team has given Lopez a lot more freedom.Brooklyn has been maintaining their success even without Lopez.  They are 11-5 on the season.  They have split the two games Lopez missed. Nets, Williams still finding groove

On paper, it all looks so easy. First, you start with one of the league's elite point guards, then trade for an All-Star shooting guard to round out the backcourt and sign an athletic former All-Star at small forward to divert some attention away from your two most dangerous weapons. After that, you nurse your offensively-inclined 7-footer in the middle back to health, add...

Deron Williams: Avery Johnson Likes To Micro-Manage

Deron Williams and Avery Johnson are sitting on an 11-6 record this year.credit: sbnation.com There was a lot of hype surrounding the new-look Brooklyn Nets coming into this season. So far, so good, as they stand at 11-6, and look to be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. A big part of this started when Deron Williams decided to stay with the Nets, even though he has...

Gerald Wallace Receives First Flop Fine

The above video is from Gerald Wallace's warning flop.  There have been two players fined for flopping so far this season.  Lucky for the 29 other teams in the league, the Nets have both of those players (Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace).  So Gerald will have to fork over $5,000 for his 2nd offense in this short season.  Unfortunately, NBA doesn't allow you to embed videos...

Jay-Z lists the top 5 coolest thing about the Brooklyn Nets

GQ  Magazine caught up with the Nets part-owner, Jay-Z to chat it up about the 5 best things the Brooklyn Nets have to offer. The jerseys: “All-black everything! And the lettering—the typography reminds you of the oldsubway. It’s classic.” The court: “It’s herringbone, which is crazy. In fact, the NBA fought me on it. They said if it gets shot on TV, the lines will...

Nets.com is trying to get the attention of the owners of the Brooklyn Nets

For the most part, when one types in a professional team name followed by a domain label (.com, .net, etc.), they are usually directed to the actual team site or redirected to the league’s site for the team.  The Brooklyn Nets currently have a site through the NBA’s website.  When a fan would like to view an official webpage by typing in “nets.com”, they are redirected...

Gerald Wallace Fined $5,000 For Second Flop

The NBA has fined Nets forward Gerald Wallace $5,000 for his second violation of the league’s anti-flopping policy on Wednesday.  His second violation came during the third quarter of a loss to the Heat in Miami on Saturday. Wallace was defending Heat All-Star forward LeBron James at the free-throw line extended, when James drove hard left towards the hoop. Wallace absorbed minor...

Kevin Durant Misses Monster Jam vs. Nets (Video)

Throw it down big man, throw it down.   Kevin Durant went HAM last night over top of Andray Blatche of the New Jersey Nets.  Well, he missed the dunk, but it's still worth a watch.  Don't think I've even seen Blake Griffin get that high before.  Check out the best missed dunk ever in the video below. P.S. What's up with the Thunder wearing the Nets jerseys...

Russell Westbrook scores 25 in Air Jordan XX8 vs. Brooklyn Nets

Thunder hold off Nets in Brooklyn

Kevin Durant scored 32 points, Russell Westbrook had 25 points and nine assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Brooklyn Nets 117-111 on Tuesday night for their sixth straight victory. Serge Ibaka added 18 points and Thabo Sefolosha 14 for the Thunder, who revved up the NBA's No. 1 offense to surpass 100 points in a 10th straight game for the first time in 15 years...

Thunder hold off Nets for sixth win in a row

NEW YORK -- The Oklahoma City Thunder came in hot and looked flat-out steaming for most of the first three quarters, but the Brooklyn Nets made them work to the end for their sixth consecutive victory. The Thunder shot 60.6 percent from the field and did not miss a free throw until the final moments. But they still somehow couldn't shake the Nets, who hit one clutch 3-pointer...
