Oklahoma State's governing board is set to vote Friday on policy changes that were recommended after women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and three others were killed on a recruiting trip last year. The policy will require aviation consultants to pre-approve any private aircraft to be used by university staff, not just coaches. It prohibits anyone from flying on official university business on any plane that hasn't been approved through a process that will include reviewing the aircraft's history and inspections. It expressly forbids employees from conducting university travel on home-built or light sport aircraft. The crash that killed Budke, assistant coach Miranda Serna, pilot Olin Branstetter and his wife, Paula Branstetter, was the second plane crash tragedy to affect Oklahoma State in 11 years.
