It isn’t quite like it once was when we could wake up just in time to turn on the Cotton Bowl, but January 1 still brings us a full day of bowl games. The Northwestern Wildcats are still searching for their first bowl win since the 1948 Rose Bowl, and will have a solid opportunity against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl. If you need another game to turn to during commercials, check out the Purdue Boilermakers and the Oklahoma St Cowboys in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. The SEC/B1G matchups get interesting at 1pm, with the Michigan Wolverines and the South Carolina Gamecocks facing off in the Outback Bowl, while Georgia and Nebraska duke it out in the CitrusCapitol One Bowl. Barry Alvarez returns to the Wisconsin Badgers sidelines one last time in hopes of winning another Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio over the Stanford Cardinal. The Florida State Seminoles end the night and will try to avoid embarrassment against the Northern Illinois Huskies in the Discover Orange Bowl. After all, the ACC typically loses this game in horrible fashion.
