The Jets take the win 23-20 and avoid catastrophe-- not dropping to 1-2 and losing to division foe Miami, and, for one more week, they have avoided the Tebow talk. Even with Sanchez's two picks.

Also, both teams now have to worry about top players being hurt. Both Reggie Bush and Darrelle Revis were taken off the field and those are division changing injuries.

1. The AFC East is wide open.

After the surprising Patriots loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week it is anyone's division to take. The Bills are also in the hunt and the once super bowl favored Patriots are now in a fight to secure a playoff spot against their division foes. The Jets and Dolphins showed how evenly paired they are.

Both teams had 13 drives, both ran 79 plays, The Jets managed to rack up 388 yards while the Dolphins came up with 381 it took a game winning field goal in overtime to decide a winner. Neither team stood out and we can expect division games to be like this all season long, unless Brady and company get their act together.

2. Mark Sanchez is the Jets starting quarterback

Sanchez was 21 of 45 for 346 yards a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. At times he failed to move the ball, although that is not all on him. The talk all off season was not if but when Tebow time would start. But after a roller coaster three weeks which saw Sanchez look like a top quarterback to a mediocre one, Tebow has yet to attempt a pass.

So it appears Rex Ryan haa been telling the truth. Mark Sanchez is the starting quarterback for better of for worse... or maybe until they get blown out in Foxborough and Tebow leads a comeback.

3. The Jets have no running game to speak of.

Remember when I said it the Jets sometimes stagnant offense was not all on Sanchez. Shonn Green and Billal Powell 29 carries for 85 yards. What more needs to be said?

4. Ryan Tannehill is still a work on progress.

Against the Texans defense, Tannehill looked like a rookie quarterback in his first game. Then at Oakland, Miami got a glimpse of what may come. After facing a good Jets defense, he is back to looking like a rookie quarterback. The verdict is still out on the young Aggie, but the flashes you would like to see are there. Even if there was no glimpse of it this week.

5. Icing the kicker is still a stupid move.

A blocked kick and the Dolphins have a shot at winning! No wait, time out, Miami. Nick Folk tries again and game over.

Would coaches stop this already. Hey, Goodell, change the rule. Icing the kicker is stupid and pointless and always blows up in the coaches face. Remember the Cowboys last year?

It rarely works and all they seem to accomplish is giving the kicker a practice kick so he may nail it down the middle when it counts.
