The Flying Knee MMA:
The UFC has announced that two of the biggest names in Strikeforce history will take part in the UFC on FOX 7 card scheduled for Saturday, April 20th in San Jose, California. The news was made official on the UFC’s official website.
Headlining the card will be UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson defending his lightweight title for the third time when he takes on Strikeforce’s longest reigning champion in Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez. The winner will certainly crown the undisputed lightweight champion in MMA.
In the co-main event, Strikeforce Grand Prix heavyweight tournament winner Daniel Cormier will return to action quickly after his win over Dion Staring last Saturday to battle two-time heavyweight champ Frank Mir in a long-anticipated showdown. The match-up was originally scheduled to take place last November in Strikeforce but a training injury forced Mir out of the bout. Whilst a win would certainly earn Cormier his title shot, it appears he is more interested in moving d...
BEST OF MAXIM
Well, that didn’t take long. Just three days after Strikeforce closed its doors, the promotion’s two biggest male superstars have been issued their first UFC assignments.
If you’ve kept close tabs on the rumor mill, neither of the bouts should come as a surprise. As expected, now-former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez (Pictured) will get an immediate title...
MMA fans will get their first real taste of Strikeforce vs. UFC fights this April…and it will be completely free. The UFC on FOX 7 broadcast will be headlined by two big fights featuring former Strikeforce champions making their UFC debuts.
Former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir is generally used to being called out by ambitious heavyweight fighters. His crisp striking and ruthless submission game make him a noticeable target for any heavyweight interested in making a name for themselves or working their way into the upper echelon of the division. The latest heavyweight to campaign for an opportunity against Mir...
Daniel Cormier (11-0 MMA, UFC Debut) will get his wish. Or at least one half of it. Following his obliteration of Dion Staring at 'Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine' the undefeated Strikeforce Heavyweight called out two fighters.
The first was Frank Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC), a man whom he was originally supposed to take on under the Strikeforce banner last November...
Speaking in the third person, this is something that Big Willy does not do because, well honestly – Big Willy has no reason to do this. One person that does and does it well is, The Rock. The Rock can do that because he is the great one and will layeth the smacketh down on [...]
Saturday night would be the final time we would see fighters don those famous red and blue Strikeforce 8 oz. gloves. Oklahoma City, not San Jose where the company was based and saw most of it's memorable moments, would be the setting for the final show in Strikeforce history.
While the promotion didn't exactly go out with a bang, it was a very stellar card from top to bottom...
Nike isn’t simply Jon Jones’ (Pictured) biggest sponsor, their “Just do it” mantra has become a way of life for the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion.
That’s why Jones didn’t bat an eye when Daniel Cormier threatened to “kick his ass” during Saturday’s live Showtime broadcast. While there aren’t many men walking God’s green earth that have dared to challenge...
Maybe Daniel Cormier is working on a front kick for his upcoming fight with Frank Mir.

UFC on Fox 7 has already pitted Strikeforce Champion Gilbert Melendez against UFC Champion Benson Henderson. This should finally put to rest who the best 155lb fighter in the world is. Now, they have added Strikeforce Champion Daniel Cormier against HW Gatekeeper, Frank Mir. Cormier is trying to make statements and big fights, but Mir is likely to (as Joe Rogan likes to say...
Does it get better then Steven Seagal advice? Seagal should get an Oscar for his performances around MMA.
