According to Kimberly Jones of the NFL Network, an NFL executive told her that he believes David Garrard will be the Jets’ week one starter.
In other words re:NYJ – Sanchez, Geno Smith & David Garrard will battle. 1 rival exec just predicted if DG stays healthy, he’s Wk 1 starter.
— Kimberly Jones (@KimJonesSports) May 7, 2013
I agree with this executive. Garrard will give the Jets the best chance to win. The only reason he hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010 is because of injuries. Garrard would have been the Dolphins’ week one starter last year if it wasn’t for an injury that ended his preseason prematurely.

Provided the rusty 35-year-old remains healthy, one rival executive predicted to NFL Network’s Kim Jones that quarterback David Garrard will start Week 1 for the New York Jets against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 8. Tentatively slated to battle rookie Geno Smith and abysmal chucker Mark Sanchez for the starting job, the 6-foot-1, 235 pound Gerrard could be an ideal Band...
Dear Tim, What up, Mr. Tebow? Had a bit of a rough week, huh? Listen, I know you’re probably busy practicing footwork and mechanics and not-throwing interceptions and stuff, but I was hoping you could give me a minute of your time. I know that you’ve probably got people pulling your square jawline in a million different directions right now, but I think this is something...

How will the Jets quarterback competition shake out this summer?

Enigmatic quarterback Tim Tebow is having some difficulty finding a new team to latch onto ever since being released by the New York Jets late last month. His unorthodox throwing motion and lack of accuracy have been cited as a couple of the main reasons why teams are choosing to avoid him like a plague. But at least one former coach said he would be willing to take a flier on the...
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie could soon be looking just as fit as Rex Ryan.
The Hurricane Sandy hero told NBC News’ Brian Williams that he consulted with the Jets’ head coach prior to having Lap-Band surgery. Ryan lost over 100 pounds since having the weight-loss procedure in March 2010.
Christie had the surgery back in February and has already noticed considerable weight...

The New York Post spoke with Jets running back Joe McKnight, who's on a mission to dig himself out of the hole he's in, on the depth chart.
“Words can’t even describe how badly I want to be that guy,’’ McKnight told The Post during a break in offseason workouts last week at the team’s Florham Park, N.J., training facility. “I’ve got an edge — a fire to...
The Jets' rookie QB gives the brush-off to those nameless sources
who question his character.
Tim Tebow has been silent since being released by the New York Jets last week, but his fans and supporters have not. A Jaguars fans who no doubt is a Tebow fan, has taken it upon himself to help get his favorite player a job.
Said fan has sent a petition to our esteemed President Obama, asking him to force Jaguars GM David Caldwell to sign Tebow to a contract.
The full petition...
Mike Ditka once traded an entire draft for Ricky Williams when he was coaching the New Orleans Saints. So it doesn't seem far fetched that Ditka would have Tim Tebow on his roster if he was still coaching today.
Ditka thinks there is a place for Tebow at quarterback or another position. Tebow has scoffed at switching to tight end or H-back, preferring to try to make it as...
With two key additions to their offensive backfield, the New York Jets are well on their way to reclaiming their ground and pound rushing game of yesteryear.
