In continuing the series that began yesterday, it’s time to discuss all of the end of the season awards that will be named soon and discussing who should and eventually who will take the honors. As with yesterday’s look at the defensive player of the year, today we will focus on the most valuable player of the year award by first taking a look at the candidates and their accolades for the 2012 campaign. Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots Just like every other healthy season for the past decade, Tom Brady is going to end up as a finalist for this category. This season, which was one of the best in his career, you heard very little buzz about him because this type of season has become expected from him. But at 35 years old, he threw for 4,827 yards and 34 touchdowns against only eight interceptions. And this was even with a good running game finally. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers It seems like if your name ins’t Favre or Manning, the NFL doesn’t like to hand this award out to...

Adrian Peterson Loves Orange Peanuts, Still Cooler than Everyone

LOL, WUT. True story. Adrian Peterson loves orange peanuts, especially when they are for him. Then, he accepts you.  If any of that is confusing, then you need to watch the video after the jump - in it's entirety - and then this picture will become Exhibit A in why Adrian Peterson is the coolest sack of flesh and bones to ever grace the turf.  "An orange...

Rondo To Reach Out To Adrian Peterson For Advice

In addition, [Rondo's agent] said they are in the process of setting up meetings with other athletes who have had similar injuries. Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is among those that Rondo’s camp hopes to speak with very soon. Denver Broncos traded Kaepernick away

John Elway and the Denver Broncos traded the No. 36 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Now, that No. 36 pick represents the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. The Broncos also had the second pick in the draft, where they selected linebacker Von Miller, who was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year. So it wasn’t a complete loss. It was the first draft for John Elway who...

Patriots and Tom Brady need a deep threat

It's been clearly evident that the New England Patriots struggle to stretch the field vertically. As great of a season as he had, Brandon Lloyd failed to provide the deep attack that the Pats were relying on. Even with virtually no down-field threat, the Patriots had the league's most prolific offense, with most of the credit going to quarterback Tom Brady. Offensive coordinator...

Should Tom Brady be traded? Yes, says one writer. Here's why he's wrong

Who wants to see Tom Brady in an Arizona Cardinals uniform? Well, he pulls it off. Just like he does most things. And one writer from a Massachusetts paper says it would benefit the New England Patriots if he was actually in one next season. Yes, seriously. Now, before you call him crazy, let's look at his arguments, and then give reasonable responses that prove his...

Massachusetts Paper Suggest Patriots Should Trade Tom Brady

One thing about being in the media is you have an outlet to editorialize whatever you like.  If I want to write Kobe Bryant should be traded to the Knicks no one can stop me from doing that. So, when Hector Longo from the Eagle-Tribune wrote his “Bye Bye Brady” article I didn’t immediately dismiss it.  I was curious to read his rationale. Here is a part of it. Are Tom Brady’s...

Joe Flacco’s rep’s reportedly believe he’s better than Peyton Manning

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, contract talks between the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco’s reps will ramp up after the Super Bowl. Flacco’s reps have told Rapoport that they believe he’s playing better than Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning who’s currently earning $8 million per season.  He expects Flacco’s agents to shoot higher than Manning’s...

NFC blows out AFC in Pro Bowl

HONOLULU (AP) -- Sack-happy defensive end J.J. Watt went out for a pass as a wide receiver, retiring center Jeff Saturday snapped to two Mannings on opposite teams and the NFC blew past the AFC 62-35 in a Pro Bowl that could be the league's last. Whether the NFL's all-star game will return or not is a question league officials will ponder the next few months. And, the players...

2013 Pro Bowl provides memorable moments

The future of the Pro Bowl is uncertain following yesterday's all-star event. Its fate will be decided over the course of the coming offseason, and there's no specific timeline in place for the commissioner and the NFL to make a decision about the possibility of a Pro Bowl in 2014, but that shouldn't take away from yesterday's game, which gave us plenty of entertaining...

Here’s video and audio of coach John Fox mic’d up while coaching the AFC in the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl.
