Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill held his pro day today, and afterward NFL Network correspondent Mike Mayock wrote this of the workout-

“This was a scripted workout and it confirmed what I saw on tape. Potentially, down the road, he could be a franchise quarterback. The problem is, he’s not ready to play right now. He’s very raw; he only had 19 starts in college. However, because the NFL is so overheated right now when it comes to finding franchise quarterbacks, I think the kid is probably going to go higher than he should. I think Cleveland has to take him at No. 4, and if they don’t, Miami is sitting there at No. 8. So the worst-case scenario for him is, I think, that he’s going to go at No. 8 to the Dolphins. “

I implore you to click the link and read all of what Mayock had to say about the workout.

Mary Kay Cabot tweeted the following- “Browns OC Childress told Ft. Worth S-T Tannehill is “capable of doing all the things you need to be able to do.”

Tom Heckert and Pat Shurmur were at Alabama RB Trent Richardson’s pro day.

Mike Mayock is right about Ryan Tannehill and the Browns… sort of

The comments to our headline post about Mike Mayock’s opinion of Ryan Tannehill turned out to be a discussion of what it means for something to be newsworthy. In the case of Mike Mayock’s opinion, as someone who has invested pretty heavily in the Browns, I would rather know it than not know it. That doesn’t mean I believe it all, but it is an important part of the equation...

Tannehill in the top ten? Bad idea.

Ryan Tannehill does not make sense for the Cleveland Browns. Not with the fourth pick, and not with a Top 10 pick either. The Texas A&M quarterbacks name keeps coming up, but if the Browns were to take him it would be a serious error in judgment. Not the same as New Coke, mind you, but an error nonetheless. With the draft about a month away, several names are mentioned as the Browns...

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Ryan Tannehill could be a top 10 pick in next month's NFL draft, less than two years after lining up as a receiver for Texas A&M. Tannehill returned to his old high school position of quarterback halfway through the 2010 season and caught the attention of NFL scouts despite starting just 19 games behind center for the Aggies. On Thursday,...

Dolphins aren’t sure if they’d draft Ryan Tannehill

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, a Miami Dolphins official insisted to him that they don’t know if they’ll draft former Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill with the 8th overall pick, if he ends up falling to them. If Tannehill doesn’t get drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the 4th pick, there’s always the chance a team could swoop in and trade up ahead...

Why the Seahawks sit down with Tannehill was a smokescreen

Pull up a chair… Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill had his pro day recently and all the NFL teams looking for quarterbacks in the draft showed up, including the Seattle Seahawks. In fact, the Seahawks sat down at dinner with Tannehill…and Miami Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland and head coach Joe Philbin. This set off wild speculation that the Seahawks crashed the dinner, but according...

Dolphins Draft Talk

With so many needs the Dolphins have a lot of options of what to do with their first and second round draft picks in this years NFL draft. While most experts will tell you that it is always important to draft the best player available over need, the Dolphins will most likely be put in the position to fit both. The Dolphins greatest needs is the same need they have had for the past...

With the 14th pick, the Cowboys select...

One of the interesting things about NFL teams losing their minds over Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill's recent pro day is that it means the Dallas Cowboys have a better shot at landing an elite player. Of course, owner Jerry Jones is still capable of undermining the entire process if he takes a last-minute call from one of his cronies and big-foots his hard-working scouting...
