Long before Jeremy Roenick was just some media member with frosted tips talkin’ puck for NBC Sports and other hockey outlets, he was a legend on the ice — both real and fake. Hockey fans from the 1980s and 90s recognize Roenick as not only one of the best players in the NHL, but in EA Sports’ NHL 94 video game, too. In fact, he was flat-out dominant in what’s considered one of the best video games of all time. Now, four years after his final NHL season, he’ll be back on the virtual ice as EA Sports is releasing a feature in this year’s NHL 14 game where users can kick it old school and play a modernized version of the 20-year-old game. Check out the video below. Thanks to Puck Daddy for the tip

The San Jose Sharks were not at all amused when the ESPN Twitter account suggested the franchise call itself the #Sharknados. Check out the epic response.

San Jose Sharks Blast ESPN Over Lack of NHL Highlights for ‘Sharknado’ Joke on Twitter

To whoever runs the San Jose Sharks’ Twitter account: Bravo. It’s no secret that a common criticism of ESPN is that it doesn’t show enough hockey highlights. While Skip Bayless somehow manages to continue to get airtime, many NHL fans feel the sport is underrepresented on The Worldwide Leader in Sports. So perhaps it it were someone else making the joke, the Sharks would let...

Sharks Showcase Prospects at Summer Scrimmage

Sharks fans with the emptiness of the offseason got a taste of hockey in July and a glimpse into the future of their team Thursday night at Sharks Ice at San Jose as the team’s top young talent was on display in the Sharks Prospect Summer Scrimmage. There was plenty of speed, skill, and fancy puck-handling to be seen, with minimal hitting and physicality in the mid-summer spectacle...

It was a fun night at Sharks Ice in San Jose Thursday evening, watching the Sharks’ future stars battle it out against each other. The two sides then competed in a quick shootout to showcase the scoring talent...

San Jose Sharks Twitter Guy ***** On ESPN

This is via Terezowens, and it’s fantastic. With SyFy’s SHARKNADO! movie reaching every part of the internet today, ESPN decided to try and bandwagon hop to manufacture some crossover appeal. You know, because manufacturing is all ESPN knows how to do, and it’s been working out great. Well, the San Jose Sharks twitter guy didn’t find it so funny, and he’s now my new hero...

Cam Gore: Sharks prospects week review

The Sharks finished their summer development camp with a scrimmage last night at Sharks ice in San Jose and although there was no lack of excitement in the overtime game I learned a lot about the real purpose behind the mini camp. The week itself is closed to the media and is an opportunity for the coaches from San Jose, Worcester, and some of the scouts to get to know these young players a...

Slow Clap…San Jose Sharks ***** Slap ESPN’s Twitter Account

ESPN tries to throw a lob to the Sharks and succeeds. The lesson here for @ESPN is that the social media people on the left coast aren’t to be f**ked with. They’re awake early and ready to slam your head…

San Jose not amused by 'Sharknado'

On Thursday night, a terrible/awesome science fiction film called "Sharknado" debuted on Syfy and caused quite the stir on Twitter , where countless viewers were chomping at the bit to debate the merits of the movie, which depicted a storm resulting in killer sharks taking over Los Angeles. No, really, that was the plot. Anyway, the San Jose Sharks were not as amused...

Roenick rips Kovalchuk as 'selfish'

Ilya Kovalchuk's NHL career came to a screeching halt on Thursday, suddenly leaving the New Jersey Devils without one of their best players. Kovalchuk abruptly announced his retirement from the Devils, forgoing the final 12 years of his contract and leaving $77 million on the table to return to his native Russia, where he is expected to play in the KHL. While some were not...

San Jose Sharks take shot at ESPN for not showing Hockey highlights

On Thursday night there was much discussion about the movie SharkNado on Twitter, which starred Tara Reid and aired on the SyFy Network.  It was one of the most talked about movies on Twitter all year, and the most talked about TV Movie according to Darren Rovell. Nielsen: Sharknado was the most tweeted TV movie of 2013 and the most tweeted TV program yesterday beating out Jeter...

San Jose Sharks win burn of the month

Apparently, last night the SyFy channel showed some sort of poor man's Jaws, Sharknado. I mean, I didn't watch it, but I assumed it was Emmy worthy because it was starring one Ian Ziering. However, it was apparently a disaster. Yes, an even bigger disaster than Lindsay Lohan in Liz & Dick. #Sharknado was trending on Twitter pretty quickly, and ESPN took it upon themselves...

St. Louis Blues take shot at San Jose Sharks with “Sharknado” reference on Twitter

The term “Sharknado” has taken storm thanks to a silly move about a tornado and sharks and a lot of people are having a lot of fun with the concept. The St. Louis Blues are not exception and have jumped into the fray of trying to make jokes regarding the topic and took aim directly towards the San Jose Sharks on Friday afternoon on Twitter with a clever Tweet, referencing the...

NHL 94 Anniversary Mode Unveiled for NHL 14

In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the legendary NHL 94 game, NHL 14 has created an Anniversary Game Mode.  The game mode comes complete with all the throwback features, no offsides, no icing, no penalties and blue ice.  They even have teams wearing throwback uniforms, but they have the current rosters and most importantly, Wayne Gretzky and Jeremy Roenick.  My guess is this...
