The latest casualty of the ongoing NHL lockout saga: the annual All-Star game, which was supposed to be held this year in Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena, home of the Blue Jackets. According to NHL.com the league and the NHL Players’ Association met on Wednesday, but no real headway was made, leading to more cancellations. The game, as well as other festivities, were supposed to take place on the weekend of January 26th-27th, 2013.
Refunds have been made available via the Blue Jackets’ website for those who purchased tickets to the game.
In addition to the All-Star game getting axed, all NHL games through December 14th have been cancelled, as announced by the league. At this point in time, roughly one-third of all games scheduled for the 2012-13 season have been scrapped. There’s a chance that a severely reduced season could be saved, but the hopes of such a possibility are getting dimmer and dimmer as more and more hockey is lost.
