Found October 01, 2013 on Sports Injury Alert:
According to the Bergen Record’s Tom Gulitti and the Newark Star-ledgers Rich Chere, The New Jersey Devils placed Patrik Elias on the injured reserve list Monday, but there is still a chance he may play in the 2013-2014 opener. “The injury is gone,” Elias said. “I’ll be fine.” This is what Elias told Chere, that his groin injury won’t stop him from suiting up on Thursday. If Elias does come off IR on Wednesday, GM Lou Lamoriello would need to make a move to get them back under the 23 man limit. Mattias Tedenby is on the non-roster/injury list, thus keeping them under the 23 man limit for now. Entering this season it seems like the 37-year old Elias will be playing at less than 100 percent, but his teammates still know his presence and efforts on the ice is always welcome and appreciated.
