The San Jose Sharks recognize that fans and downtown-San Jose businesses are missing hockey. Their goal? To help alleviate that burden, for at least one night. Sharks Sports & Entertainment will host a regular season game at the HP Pavilion featuring the Shark's ECHL affiliate -- the San Francisco Bulls -- on December 17th. Season ticket holders of the Sharks will have complimentary tickets for the game, and both Sharks and Bulls season ticket holders will receive detailed information on obtaining their complimentary tickets, according to the team's statement. The Sharks are hoping to use the game as a "thank you" to their (now long-suffering) fans, while attempting to support the downtown business which rely heavily on the Sharks during the NHL season, "We all miss having the game of hockey at HP Pavilion," said Sharks Sports & Entertainment’s Executive Vice President of Business Operations Malcolm Bordelon. "This free event is a way for us to say thank you to our loyal and patient fans, while also trying to assist those who have been directly impacted by the labor dispute between the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association." The Sharks Foundation will also be hosting a "Toys for Tots" drive during the game, to help support the less fortunate during the holiday season. All participants will be entered into a raffle for Sharks-branded prizes. This special San Francisco Bulls game vs. the Stockton Thunder will take the place of the Bulls' previously scheduled home game on January 16, 2013. (via Sharks Press Release) ;
