Who replaced Nick Saban with Steve Spurrier? Today, the Alabama head football coach pulled some of the best trolling we’ve seen all season, in advance of his team’s matchup with LSU: Saban: “This is by far to me, the most explosive, th emost talented offense we’ve faced all year long.” (cc: JFF) — D.C. Reeves (@_DCReeves) November 4, 2013 Saban on Zach Mettenberger – “He did a very good job on third down last year… he really contributes a lot to their offense” — Tide 99.1 (@Tide991fm) November 4, 2013 Of course, Saban is just showing LSU great respect and pointing out that his team can’t take the Tigers lightly. LSU certainly has a formidable offense, which ranks 16th in the country with 40.2 points per game. However, the obvious “huh?” after this statement stems from the fact that the Crimson Tide played Heisman-winner Johnny Manziel and the Aggies, who racked up 42 points against Alabama, and rank 4th nationally in scoring. In the end, both LSU and Texas A&M have stellar offenses, but Saban probably went a bit overboard in his praise of the Tigers’. When it comes to explosion and offensive talent, it’s hard to beat what the Aggies are currently putting on the field. Of course, Saban is free to troll Manziel all he wants now, since the Tide claimed victory already, and won’t have to see A&M again this season.
