The New Mexico Lobos did not have an easy time of claiming their share of the Mountain West Conference regular season title on Saturday – the gritty, gutsy Wyoming Cowboys made sure of that. But as they’ve done all season, the Lobos did exactly what was needed, out doing the visiting Cowboys down the stretch to defeat Wyoming 53-42 before a sold out crowd at The Pit on Senior Day.

Behind eight-shutout innings from junior Christian DeLeon and a two-run home run from senior Josh Scheffert, the Nebraska baseball team (2-5, 0-0 Big Ten) posted a two-game sweep of the New Mexico Lobos (2-6, 0-0 Mountain West) with a 3-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field.
