While the NBA slate was average, with six games in all, the UNC connection last night was quite small, with just one team having a current North Carolina player on their roster. But as we all know, if all fifteen or just one of the former Tar Heels are in action, the next day ISPORTSWEB will have its “North Carolina in the NBA” recap about it. So, without further ado, let’s check out the only game from 11/03/13… The one and only game with a touch of carolina blue last night was the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New York Knicks (-4) in what was the first of a pair. The game was played at the mecca of basketball, Madison Square Garden in front of a sold out crowd of 19,812 and it was televised by MSG. For the home squad it was point guard Raymond Felton, who started and played a total of 38 minutes. In that stint the floor general scored eight points (3 for 12 ~ 0 for 3 ~ 2 for 2) to go with a game high 12 assists, a pair of rebounds, a team high three steals, a block and three turnovers as well as having a pts differential of -17. In what was an upset, in this one it was Minnesota winning this one by nine points, defeating New York by the final of 109 to 100. The loss drops the Knicks to 1 and 2 on the year (1-1 at home) and will be back in action on 11/05 when they host the Bobcats. For more information on the New York Knicks check out their page on ISPORTSWEB. And there it is, the full run down for the games of 11//13 with former UNC Basketball players in them. Make sure to come back tomorrow for the next edition of the “North Carolina in the NBA” recap. And as always, check back with ISPORTSWEB for more things Carolina!
