College football is home to some of the most unique and entertaining traditions in all of sports, but the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have taken tradition to a whole new level.
"Trick shot Monday" is an event that happens every week in the Irish locker room and it's much more than just a ping pong ball in a cup of water. Believed to be a relaxing moment away from the grind leading up to gameday, "Trick Shot Monday" has evolved into a cultural phenomenon and a YouTube sensation overnight.
The trick shots have become so popular in fact, that College Gameday aired a feature where reporter Samantha Steele participated the Monday before Notre Dame's thrilling overtime victory over Stanford.
Could "Trick Shot Monday" be the key to the the team's success this year? Perhaps. But one thing is certain, if these water pong phenoms can bring a national championship to South Bend this year, ping pong balls will be splashing in cups of water for many Mondays to come.
