So much is on the line in the NFC Championship this weekend. The Super Bowl! Bragging rights! The factual accuracy of tattoos!
And now you can add the dignity of two Major League Baseball mascots to that list. That’s because the Giants and Mariners have joined in on the ever-intense Seattle-San Francisco beef in advance of Sunday’s big game between their football counterparts by placing a wager on the game. For some reason.
It all started with this tweet from the Giants:
From First Pitch to NFC Championship, Kap is the man #SFUnite … http://t.co/9L7RppjK61 #QuestForSix
— San Francisco Giants (@SFGiants) January 17, 2014
Then the Mariners felt as if they had to throw some shade. Sure, why not? Everybody in Seattle and San Francisco has been doing it. What’s one more party joining in?
.@SFGiants Our guy has been throwing strikes since the offseason. http://t.co/vy415kQIjK #GoHawks
